Die Ausstellung RINGEN zeigt aktuelle Positionen der internationalen Gegenwartskunst, die sich mit der elementaren Erfahrung
des In-Der-Welt-Seins auseinandersetzt. Aus ganz unterschiedlicher Perspektive erkunden die ausgewählten Künstler die Problematik
der individuellen und gesellschaftlichen Verortung, wobei die Dynamiken des Kampfes, des Spiels und der Sexualität wie auch das
retardierende Moment des Innehaltens, der Entschleunigung und der Unentschlossenheit eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Mit Installation,
Fotografie, Performance, Malerei, Video und Klanginstallation erschließen sich die Künstler einen ganz eigenen Raum und präsentieren
"schlagfertige" Bilder, die sich - fernab von normierten Handlungs - und Wahrnehmungsstrukturen - zu einem RINGEN
um eine Sensibilisierung und Interpretation von Seinszusammenhängen verdichten.

(...)Łukasz Gronowski is a celebrated photography newcomer in his home country Poland. His Polaroid series „Poddani' throws
the observer into a world, far away from standardised structures of cognition and action. The inciting moment of motionlessnes,
deseleration and irresolution within a situation appointed by compulsions, which can be experienced in Gronowski work is also a main
theme of Johanna Billing's video works. She is said to be one of the most important swedish concept- and video artists of our time.
Her work has been shown at PS.1. New York, at Tate Modern and at the Documenta 12.
